Kazuya san  is one of the most talented diorama modellers in the world, no doubt. He masters the vehicles, figures and nature to recreate impressive scenes with an amazing attention to detail. But beyond the incredible technical skills, he also uses the colours and composition to get an immersive atmosphere that captures the viewer´s attention  at the first sight.
This diorama is the best example of Kazuya´s work. Incredible figures, amazing tanks, wonderful composition and the crude atmosphere of a sorrowful and bitter spring awakening.
If you want to discover Kazuya Yoshioka´s secrets don´t miss his book "The diorama perfection" with an extensive step by step of this diorama.

Chaos, destruction, death.  Law of life.  Inexorable natural laws. Order, civilization, progress. Absurd human utopias. Chaos is the state of maximum equilibrium. Leviathan, Fenrir, The Four Horsemen, always waiting their time. And it always comes.  Man creates and destroys. Order and chaos. The natural versus the human. Human nature.

Caos, destrucción, muerte. Ley de vida. Inexorables leyes naturales. Orden, civilización, progreso. Absurdas utopías humanas. El caos es el estado de máximo equilibrio. Leviatán, Fenrir, los cuatro jinetes, siempre esperando su momento. Y siempre llega. El hombre crea y destruye.  Orden y caos. Lo humano contra lo natural. Naturaleza humana.

GUEST GALLERY: "Finito Benito next Hiroito" 1/32 by JEROEN VEEN.

It is not usual to see not only a great model but also an original subject. This is what this B-25 is. That´s what I thought the first time I saw this beauty by Jeroen Veen. The model is the HK Models/Wingscale 1/32 kit.
"Finito Benito Next Hirohito" was a B-25J Mitchell assigned to the 12th Bomb Group based in Naples in early 1944. The Group was transferred from the 12th Air Force in the Mediterranean to the 10th Air Force in India in March, 1944. The name reflects the change in Theater assignment. It was painted in red on the upper surfaces of the wings, as opposed to the usual placement on the nose of the airplane.
You can see more of the wonderful models by Jeroen is his Facebook pages:

OK, almost a year after beginning this project, here are some photos of the finished Eduard´s Mig-21. Apart from the Eduard Brassin for the landing gear and wheel wells I also used the Aires detail set for the cockpit and the electronics boxes behind the cockpit. For the main control panel I used Eduard´s painted photoetched. The ejection seat is CMK´s and the pitot tube is from Master Model. Oh, and some scratch-work, you know...
I used Alclad "white aluminium" and Tamiya "Smoke" to paint and shade the different panels; and AMMO of Mig Jimenez products to make the weathering.
The heavy weathered fuselage gives to the aircraft the operational look I was looking for when I began this mass production war machine.
Here you have the link for this Mig-21 Chronicle

Hope you like it!

"Ghost"
Sculpted and painted by Ju-Won Jung
Medium : sculpey, wood / oil, acrylic
Size : H 8"× W 9".  Aprox. 20x23 cm

This is a beautiful piece by Korean artist Ju-Won Jung. Both sculpting and painting are so amazing that it looks like a three-dimensional painting. The girl´s gaze has something magnetic, isn´t it?

Ju-Won works sculpting busts for his own company Galapagos Miniatures.
You can see more of Ju-Won works in his facebook and in the Galapagos Miniatures homepage:

A new twist to this twisted vignette. Some snow and icicles to turn the dio into a winter scene.

And what is a snow scene without a snowman?

The "Shades of Death" work: Tamiya 1/48.

Can death be sleep, when life is but a dream,
And scenes of bliss pass as a phantom by?
The transient pleasures as a vision seem,
And yet we think the greatest pain's to die.

How strange it is that man on earth should roam,
And lead a life of woe, but not forsake
His rugged path; nor dare he view alone
His future doom which is but to awake.

On Death -John Keats.

Ok, now I can say this T-34 extravaganza is finally finished, I hope. It has been the first time I make two different works with the same model, and I guess the last one, but the circumstances were propitious.
For those interested you can read the "Shades of Chaos" article in Panzer Aces nº 45
and the "Shades of Death" article in The Weathering Magazine Snow & Ice issue

And a final photo for the size comparison. Cheers!

The "Spanish Hornet" work: Hasegawa 1/48.

After making  the "Spanish Adversary" with a former Top Gun´s F-18 in Spanish markings, I have had the feeling of being in the obligation to build a Hornet in the standard Spanish scheme. Of course the grey camo is not as eye-catching as the Navy´s adversary colors but with some weathering it looks really nice.
And here it is, I´m not a Lannister but I also pay my debts. Usually.
Apart from Hasegawa´s kit I also used the cockpit from Aires, the seamless air intakes from Rhino, Eduard´s AIM-9L Sidewinders and the "Export Bugs" decal sheet from F4Dable Models.
I used Tamiya acrylics and Gunze´s Hobby colors to paint the aircraft. The weathering is done mainly with Ammo products except some effects in the flaps made with a graphite pencil.
Hope you like it.

Ok, a final update with photos of the finished quick diorama. Just some elements to put the Mig into context.
I used a Soviet Hex Airfield from Uschi Van Der Rosten, an Ural fuel tanker from Balaton Models, a soviet weapons loading cart by Aerobonus, photoetched wheel chocks from Brengun and a photoetched ladder from Eduard.
The gorgeous photos were shooted by Ricardo Rodríguez.

ENCYCLOPEDIA of Aircraft Modelling Techniques

After several years of hard work (I mean it, believe me) building and shooting step by step the work in progress of the models; contacting with the Wild Bunch of collaborators; and finally assembling , writing, designing and editing the books (thanks a lot to the skilled and professional staff from AMMO of Mig Jimenez) the ENCYCLOPEDIA of Aircraft Modelling Techniques is here.

The Vol.1 is already on sale! The following volumes will be published every 3 months.
You can order the Vol.1: Cockpits, here for 25€:

Or you can subscribe for the 5 volumes saving 25€, and get a free extra volume only for subscribers: The Encyclopedia Subscription

This Encyclopedia is not directed to one specific type of modeller. Every stage of the modelling process is explained so can be followed by new modellers, but also includes techniques more suitable for advanced modellers. I myself have learned a lot of new tricks from the collaborator modellers, apart from experimenting new products and tools.
The different sections of the volumes are explained with very detailed step by step sequences of each phase. This was the intention from the beginning, to offer something impossible to show in a magazine or an individual book due to the space limits. This is what has turned this Encyclopedia into something unique but extremely hard to develop.

The Encyclopedia of Aircraft Modelling Techniques is published in English and Spanish:
Volume 1: Cockpits, 124 pages
Volume 2: Interiors and Assembly, 168 pages
Volume 3: Painting, 168 pages
Volume 4: Weathering, 160 pages
Volume 5: Final Steps, 124 pages
Volume Extra: Full Process on an aircraft, 48 pages (only for subscribers)

And for you, stats lovers as me, here are some numbers:
-5 volumes, plus an extra volume only for subscribers.
- More than 750 pages.
- More than 3500 photos.
-20 modellers
-15 main models and a lot of complimentary models.

Such a huge work couldn´t have be done by just one modeller. A lot of friends have contributed in this project. My deepest gratitude and admiration to all of them.
Ricardo Rodríguez, JD. Cabrera and Miguel Brito have helped me with the development of the main content.
Mig JimenezandCarlos Cuesta have leaded and guided the project through the many difficulties with patience and determination.
And the Wild Bunch of excellent modellers that have participated in the Encyclopedia with their models and step-by-step tutorials are (alphabetically):
Alex Glass "Uschi van der Rosten"
Alex Kontiveis
Antonio Morant "Nono"
Artur Oslizlo "Arkady 72"
Francisco  Soldán
Jamie "Haggis" Haggo
JM. Villalba
Juan Manuel Villegas
Kamil Feliks Sztarbala
Mark D. Smith
Mig Jimenez
Oishi S. Natapong "Oishi Modeller"

Update for the "Ferrari Mad Max" work.

I made an update of this work for the "Desert" issue of the Weathering Magazine. I repainted the whole base, which had a rather simple look, using Nature effects from AMMO weathering products as well as pigments. I also added some desert vegetation, also from AMMO. And a couple of yellow lines in the road, I like that touch. I want to add a few complements to the base, as a road sign of some kind and other stuff to make it more interesting. I´ll do it when I have some time but for now it looks nice enough.

I also updated the car with finer weathering effects to improve the look. First of all I added some splashes of dry mud in the lower chassis and behind the wheels.

I also added more mud and dust dirt to the wheels as well as oil stains.

Some rainmarks where applied to the sides of the vehicle.

And finally I added dust accumulations in some horizontal zones using pigments.

The final look with the new base and the improved weathering is much better than before, don´t you think?
